JHI Joist Hanger 48x95x2mm Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel 50pcs Fast 833254
Description
The JHI joist hanger, measuring 48x95x2 mm, is a specially engineered construction component designed to create strong, stable, and aesthetically pleasing joints between timber beams positioned in the same plane. By utilizing inward-facing flanges, the design eliminates visible hardware on the exterior of the primary beam, resulting in a clean, professional appearance—ideal for exposed structural elements. This model is crafted from high-quality, hot-dip galvanized sheet steel, providing excellent corrosion resistance and long-term durability, even in demanding environments.
Smart structural advantages of inward-facing flanges
The design, featuring inward-facing flanges, ensures that the attachment points to the supporting structure are located on the inside of the connection. Consequently, the exterior remains completely free of protruding metal components. This is a significant advantage for exposed roof trusses, floor joists, and deck structures where visual aesthetics are important. The width of the hanger may exceed the width of the beam by a maximum of 3 mm, ensuring a tight, precise fit for optimal load transfer.
Material and Corrosion Protection
The product is manufactured from hot-dip galvanized steel sheet (S250GD+Z275). This zinc coating provides effective protection against moisture and corrosion, making the joist hanger well-suited for use in both heated indoor spaces and sheltered outdoor structures. The steel grade ensures high load-bearing capacity and resistance to mechanical stress over time.
Installation Instructions and Fastening
To ensure correct and secure installation, the joist hanger is equipped with both nail holes and bolt holes. The nail holes have a diameter of 5.0 mm, while the bolt holes have a diameter of 11.0 mm.
- For attachment to timber, use 4.0 mm anchor nails or 4.8 mm anchor screws.
- For the bolt holes, use M10 bolts to achieve maximum stability.
- The joist hanger can be installed on various substrates, including timber, concrete, lightweight concrete, brick, or steel.
- The height of the joist hanger must be at least 2/3 of the height of the supported (secondary) beam.
- A minimum distance of 20 mm must be maintained between the top edge of the beam and the nail holes.
- The recommended maximum beam height for this model is 162 mm.
Applications
The joist hanger is primarily used to connect timber beams in the same plane when constructing structural frameworks, floor systems, decks, roof structures, and walls. Because it can be fastened to both timber and mineral-based materials—such as concrete and brick—this connector is highly versatile on the construction site.
