Mounting tips for Beslagboden Hat Hook

• Measure the correct c/c distance: The hook's mounting holes have a c/c dimension of 22 mm (center to center). Use a ruler or tape measure to mark both holes exactly before you start drilling or screwing.
• Check with a spirit level: Hold the hook in place and use a small spirit level to ensure that it is perfectly straight and vertical, especially if you are installing several hooks in a row.
• Keep even spacing: When installing several hooks in a row (e.g. on a wooden strip or wall in the hall), a distance of 15–20 cm between the centers of the hooks is recommended so that jackets and bags do not crowd each other.
• Pre-drill in wood: When installing directly in wood or panel, a light pre-drilling with a fine wood drill bit (approx. 1.5–2 mm) is recommended. This reduces the risk of the wood cracking and ensures that the included screws are pulled straight.
• Use plugs in plaster and concrete: The included screws are intended for wooden substrates. If the hooks are to be installed on plasterboard or concrete/brick, you will need to supplement with a suitable expander/plug to withstand the weight of heavy winter jackets and bags.
• Tighten by hand: Avoid using a high torque screwdriver when tightening the last few millimeters. Tighten the last few millimeters by hand with a suitable screwdriver to protect the brushed chrome finish and not damage the screw heads.
