Falu Vapen Knut & Lining is a high-quality, water-borne emulsion paint based on alkyd oil. The paint is specially developed for knot boards, window lining and wind panels, and gives a beautiful matt finish that harmonizes perfectly with facades painted with mud paint or matt facade paints such as Falu Fasad.

Work instructions: Step by step

Pre-treatment

• New, factory-primed & printed wood: Brush off dirt and dust. Avoid painting on completely fresh pressure-impregnated wood; let it dry thoroughly first.
• Previously painted surfaces (oil paint, glaze or emulsion paint): Scrape off loose and thick layers of paint. Replace soft rotted wood and sand/brush off grayed, weathered wood.
• Cleaning: Wash with facade cleaner and rinse thoroughly with clean water. If there is a risk of growth or mold, pre-treat with mold inhibitor.
• Moisture control: The wood must be dry before painting with a maximum moisture content of 17%. Use suitable respiratory protection when sanding and brushing.

Painting

• Stir the paint thoroughly before use and regularly during work.
• Cover adjacent surfaces and details with protective plastic until the paint is completely waterproof.
• Apply with a paint brush for the best finish.
• Paint 1–2 thin coats and work the paint well into the substrate. The first coat can be thinned slightly.
• Let the paint dry for at least 24 hours between coats.
