Safety Guide for Your New Quartz Heater

Before you start your new quartz heater, it is important that you read the safety instructions. The device is designed for efficient and safe heating, but improper use will invalidate the warranty. Always save these instructions for future reference.

Children and Safety (Important Information)

• Age Limit: Children from 8 years of age and persons with reduced physical or mental capabilities may only use the heater if they have been given clear instructions and understand the hazards involved.
• Younger Children: Children under 3 years of age should be kept away from the appliance unless they are constantly supervised. Children between 3 and 8 years of age may only switch the appliance on/off if it has been correctly installed and they are supervised. They must not plug in, clean or adjust the heater.
• Play and Care: Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance must not be made by children without adult supervision.

Installation and placement

In order for your wall-mounted infrared heater to function safely in your home or garden, the following installation requirements apply:

• Installation height: The heater must be mounted at least 1.8 meters above the floor.
• Electrical connection: Only for 220–240 V AC, 50–60 Hz. The heater must not be placed directly under a power outlet. The power cord must never touch the metal housing when the heater is in operation.
• Wet areas: Do not use the heater in the immediate vicinity of a bathtub, shower or swimming pool.
• Safety distance: Keep the heater away from flammable materials (curtains, carpets, plastic). There must be a free distance of at least 150 cm between the front grille and flammable objects in the direction of radiation.

Use and care

• Warning of burns: Parts of the product become extremely hot. Do not touch the front grille during use. Be especially careful if children or sensitive people are in the room.
• Temperature control: The heater does not have a built-in room thermostat. Do not use it in small rooms where there are people who cannot leave the room on their own, unless they are constantly supervised.
• Pull switch: The cord switch only works when you pull it vertically downwards.
• Cleaning: Always let the quartz heater cool down completely before cleaning. Only dry it when it is cold. Never touch the quartz tubes with your fingers, as grease stains can damage the tubes when heated.
• Damaged cord: If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized workshop or a qualified electrician.

Cleaning

• Before cleaning, first disconnect the heater from the power supply.
• Allow the quartz heater to cool down and only clean it with a dry cloth. Do not touch the quartz tubes with your fingers!
• Never use water and never touch the heater with wet hands.
