Protect and renew your exterior metal roofs and sheet cladding with Hagmans Protäck V. This high-quality sheet metal paint is water-based, semi-matt, and exceptionally fast-drying. It is specially formulated for outdoor roofs with a slope of more than 15° as well as exterior wall cladding. With its outstanding adhesion and weather-resistant durability, it provides heavy-duty protection built to withstand harsh weather conditions.

Versatile Application Range Hagmans Protäck V is used as a topcoat on both untreated and previously painted surfaces. It adheres excellently to:

• Galvanized (zinc-coated) steel and sheet metal surfaces.
• Industrially pre-coated sheet metals (coatings including polyurethane, PURAL, PUREX, polyester, acrylic, and aged PVC plastisol).
• Please note: Not suitable for PVF2-coated sheet metal.

Pre-treatment for Optimal Results To ensure maximum service life and perfect adhesion, thorough surface preparation is essential:

1. Cleaning: The surface must be completely dry, firm, and thoroughly cleaned from dirt, grease, and loose paint. Wash using Hagmans Målartvätt Tak/Fasad (Roof/Facade Cleaner). An adhesion test (e.g., cross-cut test/Gitterschnitt) is highly recommended.
2. Oxidized & Rusty Surfaces: Oxidized galvanized surfaces should be treated with Hagmans Betvätska (mordant solution). Rusty areas must be sandblasted or power-brushed, then primed 1–2 times with Hagmans Plåtprimer (Metal Primer).
3. Aluminium: Aluminium surfaces must be etched and primed before paint application.

Instructions and Application Stir the paint thoroughly before use. If necessary, the paint can be thinned up to 5–15% by volume with water. Avoid painting in direct sunlight or when there is a risk of rain or dew formation.

• New, Unpainted Surfaces: Apply using a brush, roller, or airless sprayer (e.g., Wagner PS 3.29 airless sprayer with a suitable nozzle). Apply at least two coats to achieve a minimum dry film thickness of 120 µm. A third coat provides even more effective long-term protection.
• Maintenance Painting: After cleaning and scraping off loose paint, spot-prime bare metal areas with Protäck V. Rust-cleared steel surfaces should be primed with Hagmans Plåtprimer up to 2 times. Finally, topcoat the entire surface with Protäck V to achieve a dry film thickness of approximately 120 µm.
