Teak Oil Outdoor 1L Herdins
Description
Herdins Teak Oil Outdoor is a classic, deep-penetrating wood oil specially developed to protect and revive weather-exposed hardwood. The oil effectively prevents drying out, restores the wood's natural luster and color and removes the dull, grayed surface that occurs over time. Perfect for annual maintenance of teak outdoor furniture, exterior doors and boat details.
The benefits of Herdins Teak Oil
- Restores natural luster: Penetrates deep into the wood fibers and highlights the grain without forming a dense film that risks cracking or peeling.
- Effective weather protection: Provides a water-repellent surface that protects against moisture, rain and cracking caused by sun and weather.
- Versatile use: Excellent for outdoor hardwood and fine wood – such as teak, oak, mahogany and pressure-treated wood.
- Easy application: Easy-to-apply formula makes it easy to maintain both new and old wood surfaces.
Areas of use
This oil is designed for outdoor use only and is suitable for, among other things:
- Garden furniture and lounge furniture made of teak or other hardwood
- Exterior doors and entrance areas made of hardwood
- Exterior wooden details on boats (railings, deck details, etc.)
- Screen walls, trellises and details made of pressure-treated wood
Consumption & Coverage
Coverage varies depending on the condition, porosity and absorbency of the wood:
- New / planed wood: Approx. 10 m² per liter
- Dried / weathered wood: Approx. 6 m² per liter
Instructions for use: How to oil for best results
- Preparation: Make sure the wood is completely clean and dry. Clean dirty or grayed wood with a suitable wood cleaner/deck cleaner and let dry thoroughly before treatment. Sand lightly if necessary to raise any fibers.
- Application: Stir or shake the can well. Apply the oil liberally with a brush or cloth in the direction of the wood grain.
- Saturation: Let the wood absorb for about 15–20 minutes. For very dry wood, another layer can be applied wet-on-wet.
- Wipe: Carefully wipe away any excess that has not been absorbed with a lint-free cloth. The oil should penetrate, not remain as a shiny film on the surface.
- Drying time: Let dry for at least 24 hours under dry conditions before the furniture is put into use.
- Important about fire safety: Rags and sponges soaked in linseed oil-based wood oils can spontaneously ignite. Always soak used rags in water after use and dispose of them in a closed, non-flammable container.
