Mounting tips for Beslagboden WC-Beslag

• Check door thickness and lock housing: Make sure that the lock housing is intended for toilet handles (standard WC handles/rowers) and that the thickness of the door matches the length of the through-bolt screws provided (usually 38–42 mm standard doors).
• Identify inside and outside: Place the handle (the rotating knob) on the inside of the bathroom. Place the red/white indicator with chisel groove (emergency locking/emergency pulling) on the outside of the door.
• Measure and cut the screw/rower if necessary: For thinner doors, the square driver (rower pin) or the through-bolt screws may need to be shortened with a hacksaw so that the washers fit completely tightly against the door leaf.
• Install with through-bolt: Insert the screws straight through the lock housing's through-bolt from one side to the threaded bushings/nuts on the opposite side. This provides a much more stable attachment than wood screws alone.
• Tighten the screws evenly: Tighten the through-bolts alternately on both sides so that the fitting is centered and does not end up at an angle to the door leaf. Avoid overtightening to avoid damaging the wood or the aluminum washers.
• Test the function with the door open: Turn the knob several times while the door is open to check that the bolt moves in and out smoothly without binding, and that the emergency opening groove on the outside rotates synchronously.
