Choose the right hydrophore and accessories for your water system

A well-functioning hydrophore is the heart of a private water system. It ensures that you have a consistent and reliable water pressure in the taps while protecting your jet pump or deep well pump from unnecessary starts and stops. When choosing the right equipment, there are some important parameters to consider.

Classic hydrophore or membrane hydrophore?

When you go through our range, you will come across two main types of pressure vessels:

  • Classic hydrophore: Water and air meet directly in the vessel without a barrier. This model requires regular filling with air to maintain the right air cushion, but provides a robust and proven function that will last for many years.
  • Membrane hydrophore (Hydropress): The water is inside an internal membrane (often made of rubber or fiberglass construction) that separates it from the air. This prevents air from being absorbed into the water, which means significantly less maintenance and often a more compact format.

Material selection for long durability

The material affects both lifespan, weight and maintenance requirements:

  • Stainless steel: An extremely durable and hygienic material with high corrosion resistance, perfect for demanding environments and households that want maximum lifespan for their plumbing installations.
  • Fiberglass (Composite): Lightweight vessels that are completely corrosion-free. An excellent choice for spaces with high humidity or in environments where steel is at risk of rusting.

Important accessories for a complete installation

For your pressure vessel to function optimally, reliable components are required around it:

  • Pressure switch: Controls when the pump should start and stop based on the pressure in the tank.
  • Pipe kit & Mounting kit: Simplifies the connection between pump, vessel and piping.
  • Water level indicator: Makes it easy to visually check the water and air levels in a classic hydrophore.

Things to consider before buying

  • Volume & Capacity: Adjust the size to the household's water consumption. Larger households or farms benefit from volumes of 150–500 liters, while smaller holiday homes often do well with more compact variants.
  • Location & Space: Check that the space where the vessel will be placed is frost-free and has sufficient ceiling height and floor space for installation and future service.
