Craft Knife 120LC 170mm Laminated Carbon Steel Morakniv
Description
Morakniv Carving Knife 120 (LC) is one of the world's most appreciated carving knives among both professional wood artists and passionate hobbyists. With its short, tapered blade of 62 mm, the knife provides unmatched control and precision for demanding detail work, carving and finer figure carving. The knife is manufactured in Mora, Sweden, and is built on more than a century of tradition of Swedish craftsmanship and world-class knife making.
Unique French laminated carbon steel blade (100Cr6)
The heart of the Slöjdkniv 120 LC is its 2.7 mm thick French laminated carbon steel blade. The construction consists of a hard core of carbon steel (100Cr6) that has been hardened to extreme edge resistance, flanked by softer alloy steel on the sides. This traditional lamination technique gives the blade superior toughness and resistance to lateral bending, while the edge can be sharpened to a razor-sharp edge and stays sharp for an exceptionally long time.
Ergonomics and stability for long hours of crafting
The knife is equipped with a continuous tang that runs deep into the shaft, creating a very strong and torsionally rigid construction. The coil-shaped handle made of carefully selected, oiled Scandinavian birch provides a natural, warm and secure grip regardless of carving technique or hand size. The ergonomic design of the wood minimizes fatigue in fingers and wrists even during several hours of continuous work.

Laminated carbon steel care tips
- Laminated carbon steel offers the best edge on the market but requires proper maintenance to prevent surface rust and discoloration:
- Cleaning: Always clean the blade by hand after each carving session. Dry it completely with a clean cloth immediately after cleaning.
- Oiling: Apply a thin layer of protective oil (such as acid-free paraffin oil, camellia oil or boiled linseed oil) before storing the knife in the sheath.
- Storage: Store the knife dry at normal room temperature. Avoid humid environments and do not leave the knife damp in the plastic sheath.
