CTC Ash Door Insulation V25

Description

Molded, heat-resistant insulation for the lower door (ash door) on wood-burning boilers in the CTC V25 series. This durable insulation plate is a critical component for maintaining the correct combustion temperature in the firebox and protecting the door plate against direct heat radiation and deformation.

The right time to replace the insulation

Firing with a damaged or cracked insulation plate increases the risk of the door overheating, which can burn through the sealing braid and cause drafts. Replace the insulation if:

• The plate has cracked right through or has started to fall apart.
• The outside of the door becomes abnormally hot during firing.
• The ash door plate shows signs of discoloration or deformation.

Firing tip: At the same time, check the condition of the door seal (sealing cord) around the edge of the door when you replace the insulation. A leaky ash door leads to incorrect air intake, poorer combustion economy and unnecessary smoke.

Quick guide: Assembly

• Allow the boiler to cool completely before starting work.
• It is advisable to unhook the ash door from the boiler and place it flat on a workbench.
• Loosen the screws/fasteners that hold the old insulation and remove any residue.
• Clean the inside of the door from soot and deposits with a wire brush.
• Fit the new insulation and tighten the fasteners carefully (avoid pulling too hard so that the material is crushed).
• Reinstall the door and adjust the hinges so that the seal closes completely tightly against the boiler.
