When should you replace the grate ceramics?

The ceramics at the bottom of a CTC wood-burning boiler are naturally worn over time by high temperatures and logs hitting against them. If the grate opening has become burnt out, cracked or uneven, the combustion gases pass through too quickly without optimal afterburning. By replacing the front and rear parts, you maintain the boiler's environmental approval and extend the life of the entire heating system.

Please note: The entire old grate and any remaining ceramic debris must be thoroughly cleared from the combustion chamber before the new kit is fitted and operated, in order to prevent improper alignment.
