Facade Paint 1L Black Falu Vapen
Description
Falu Vapen Falu Facade Black combines the best of two worlds – the timeless, deep, fully matte aesthetics of classic mud paint and the technical advantages of a modern alkyd oil emulsion. Many homeowners appreciate the natural, vibrant expression of mud paint but encounter problems with extensions or when the facade consists of mixed materials. Where traditional red paint often has difficulty adhering, Falu Facade offers superior adhesion to both planed and unplaned as well as pressure-impregnated wood. The result is a uniform, harmonious facade with the same traditional feel across the entire body of the house.
Because the paint is completely diffusion-open, it does not form a dense plastic film on the wood surface. The wood is allowed to "breathe", which means that moisture from inside the building can migrate out unhindered - a crucial feature for minimizing the risk of rot, peeling and moisture damage over time. At the same time, you avoid the classic problem of chalking; the pigments are effectively bound so that the paint does not smear on clothes or furniture when touched.
With its extended repainting interval, easy maintenance and BASTA-approved composition, Falu Facade Black is a long-term, durable and environmentally conscious choice for facades, planks, garages and outbuildings with protective eaves.
Quick Overview And Benefits
- Lets the wood breathe: Does not form a dense paint film and minimizes the risk of moisture trapping and rot.
- Versatile adhesion: Adheres to sawn, planed and pressure-impregnated wood as well as previously slurry-painted surfaces.
- Does not chalk: Does not discolour when touched, which makes future repainting much easier.
- Longer maintenance interval: More durable than traditional red paint and protects the facade for longer.
- Environmental & health assessed: Registered in the BASTA system for safe and sustainable construction.
Recommended substrates
- Sawn & unplaned wood (optimal absorption and durability)
- Planed wood
- Pressure-impregnated wood (must have been exposed to the weather for at least 1 year before painting)
- Previously red painted surfaces (where loose and thick layers of paint have first been brushed away)
Painting instructions and work flow
Preparation & repainting
- Cleaning: Decontaminate mold if necessary and allow to dry thoroughly.
- Brushing: For previously painted surfaces – wire brush away loose pigment, gray wood and flakes. Scrape away thick layers of paint to a solid and clean substrate.
- Sweeping: Sweep the facade thoroughly with a soft brush before painting.
- Color change: When changing to black from another color, a basically clean wood substrate is recommended to avoid color bleed-through.
Application
- New painting (2 coats): Dilute the first coat (primer) with about 10% water. Finish with a thin coat of undiluted paint.
- Repainting (1 coat): Apply one coat of undiluted paint.
- Technique: Always paint wet-on-wet along the entire length of the board. Work in thin layers and brush the paint well into the wood.
