Description

Falu Facade from Falu Vapen is a modern alkyd oil-based emulsion paint developed to give the same beautiful, fully matte appearance as traditional mud paint, but with significantly greater technical flexibility and superior durability. Since the paint does not form a dense plastic film, the wooden facade is allowed to breathe naturally, which effectively reduces the risk of trapped moisture and subsequent rot damage. It is particularly suitable for lower wooden structures with protective eaves and gives a timeless, stylish result that blends in with both classic and modern architecture.

The paint is very easy to apply and has excellent adhesion to sawn, planed and pressure-impregnated wood (where pressure-impregnated wood must have been exposed to the weather for at least one year). It therefore works optimally for extensions to older parts of the house or on details where regular mud paint does not adhere. You can also paint directly over previously red-painted surfaces as long as loose layers are first removed with a wire brush. Unlike classic red paint, Falu Fasad does not chalk when touched, which keeps the facade cleaner over time and simplifies future repainting with noticeably longer maintenance intervals.

Tips for painting

• Previously red-painted surfaces: Remove all loose paint and thick layers with a wire brush before painting.
• Color change: When changing to a lighter color, a completely clean wood substrate is recommended.
• Pressure-treated wood: Make sure the wood has dried and been exposed to the weather for at least one year before application.
