Description

Give your wooden facade a timeless, Swedish cultural heritage with Falu Vapen Rödfärg 4L. This traditionally boiled slurry paint in classic falured color is carefully composed of high-quality linseed oil, flour, iron vitriol and pure iron oxide pigments extracted from recycled steel. Unlike traditional earth pigments, the recipe is completely free of lead and harmful heavy metals, making it both Nordic Ecolabelled and BASTA-registered for sustainable and environmentally friendly construction.

The paint is naturally diffusion-open, which means that it lets the wood breathe and effectively transports moisture out instead of locking it in. This reduces the risk of rot and peeling over time. The result is the characteristic, fully matte and weather-resistant surface with a deep luster that ages with dignity. It is perfect for both new constructions of unplaned sawn timber and for the maintenance of previously mud-painted facades with generous eaves.

Painting instructions

New, unplaned timber:

• Primer: Dilute the paint with approx. 10% water for the first coat. Paint thinly in the direction of the wood grain.
• Finishing coat: Coat a second coat of undiluted paint after the base coat has dried.

Repainting previous red paint:

• Preparation: Wash and treat the facade with anti-mold if necessary. Wire brush thoroughly down to a solid and clean surface and brush away all loose pigment and wood fiber.
• Painting: Apply a full-coverage coat of undiluted paint.

Tip: Always paint wet-on-wet and avoid spot touch-ups (e.g. on individual nail heads), as this can give a blotchy or spotty end result.
