Water Kettle 750-900W 220-240V 1 Liter Emerio
Description
Using an electric kettle is the fastest and most energy-efficient way to boil water for tea, coffee or cooking. To ensure that your kettle lasts a long time and performs at its best, it is important to follow these simple instructions for use, cleaning and descaling.
Before first use: Clean the kettle
Before using your new kettle for the first time, a simple thorough cleaning is recommended:
- Fill the kettle to the maximum level with fresh water.
- Bring to the boil and pour out the water.
- Repeat the process a second time.
- The kettle is now ready to use!
How to use your kettle (Step-by-step)
1. Fill with water
Open the lid and pour out any remaining water from the previous boiling. Fill with the required amount of cold, fresh water.
- Important: Make sure the water level is always between the MIN and MAX markings. Too little water will cause the appliance to switch off prematurely, and too much water may cause boiling water to spurt out of the spout.
2. Start boiling
Close the lid securely and plug the power cord into an electrical outlet. Press the power button. The indicator light will come on and the water will start to heat up. The kettle switches off automatically as soon as the water has boiled.
- Tip: You can manually stop the boiling process at any time by pushing the switch upwards. Make sure that the switch is not blocked, as this will prevent the automatic switch-off.
3. Serving and safety
Unplug the plug from the wall socket. Lift the jug and pour the water.
- Safety risk: Wait about 10 seconds after the water has boiled before pouring. This prevents hot steam from escaping from under the lid and causing burns.
4. Repeated boiling
Let the kettle cool down for 30-40 seconds before opening the lid to boil new water.
- Hygiene tip: Never boil water that has been in the jug for more than 2 hours. Make sure the power is switched off when the appliance is not in use.
5. Built-in boil-dry protection
If the kettle is started without water, the automatic boil-dry protection is activated and switches off the power. If this happens, let the appliance cool down completely before refilling with cold water.
Cleaning and maintenance
Regular cleaning extends the life of your kitchen machine. Always let the kettle cool down and unplug it before cleaning.
- Exterior: Wipe the casing with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Never use strong or toxic chemicals.
- Important: Never immerse the kettle, base plate or cord in water. Do not let moisture come into contact with the electrical parts.
Cleaning the appearance of the casing
Wipe the casing with a damp cloth or detergent. Never use toxic detergents. Descale regularly, preferably at least once a month and more often if the water is very hard. To descale your kettle, use:
White vinegar:
- Fill the kettle with half a litre of vinegar
- Leave for 1 hour without heating
Citric acid:
- Bring half a litre of water to the boil
- Add 25g of citric acid and leave for 15 minutes.
A specific descaler for plastic or stainless steel kettles:
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
- Empty the kettle and rinse it 5 or 6 times.
