Description

The chipboard screw 4.2x55 mm is specially developed to provide a stable, durable and efficient installation of chipboard, MDF, OSB and other wood-based board materials directly to wooden joist substrates in dry indoor environments. The well-thought-out thread geometry and sharp tip ensure an immediate grip in the wood, which minimizes the risk of the screw wandering at the start and provides a noticeable time saving for larger installation jobs such as flooring and wall covering.

Thanks to the integrated milling grooves under the head, the screw effectively cuts the wood fibers during the final tightening. This results in a smooth, clean and flat countersink in the board without pushing up material residues, cracking the board's surface layer or damaging the surrounding substrate. You avoid the time-consuming task of pre-drilling and countersink, while at the same time obtaining a smooth and flat end result that is optimally prepared for direct filling, wallpapering or further flooring.

Installation tips

• Use a screwdriver with the correct torque setting to avoid driving the screw too deep through the core of the board.
• For chipboard flooring: Screw with a center distance (c/c) of approximately 150–200 mm along the edges of the board and 300 mm over intermediate studs, or according to the board manufacturer's instructions.
• Always make sure to use a fresh TX20 bit for maximum service life and stability.
