Description

Falu Facade from Falu Vapen is a modern, alkyd oil-based emulsion paint that combines the best of two worlds: the beautiful, fully matt appearance of the classic mud paint and modern paint technology properties. Thanks to its unique composition, the paint does not form a dense or cracked paint film. This allows the wood to breathe naturally and moisture can be vented out, which minimizes the risk of moisture-related damage and rot in the facade.

The paint is particularly versatile and adheres excellently to several types of wooden substrates where traditional mud paint does not always adhere properly. This makes it a perfect choice for new buildings and extensions where modern wood materials meet older, existing facades. A major advantage of Falu Fasad is that, unlike traditional mud paint, it does not chalk, which provides a significantly longer maintenance interval, keeps the color cleaner over time and simplifies future repainting significantly. For safe and sustainable construction, Falu Fasad is also registered in the independent BASTA system, which certifies that the product meets the market's strictest requirements regarding environmentally and health hazardous substances.

• Substrate & Attachment: Developed to attach equally well to sawn and planed wood as to pressure-impregnated wood (note that pressure-impregnated wood must have been exposed to the weather for at least one year before application). Also works excellently on previously red-colored surfaces as long as loose paint is carefully steel-brushed down to a solid surface.
• Optimal use: Best suited for lower wooden structures, villas, garages and outbuildings that are protected by a generous eaves.

Instructions for use and application

• Preparation: Decontaminate mold if necessary. When repainting, loose pigment, grey wood and thick layers of paint should be wire brushed/scraped away to a solid surface. Sweep clean with a soft brush. When changing color, the surface should be completely wood-free.
• New painting: 2 coats. Dilute the first coat with about 10% water.
• Repainting: 1 coat in a thin layer.
• Painting technique: Always paint wet-on-wet along the entire length of the board and brush the paint well in thin layers.
