Staining Varnish Semi-Matte 500ml Herdins
Description
Give your furniture, tabletops and joinery long-lasting protection with Herdins Staining Varnish Semi-Matte (500 ml). This polyurethane-reinforced alkyd varnish is specially formulated to seal and protect surfaces treated with Herdins Äkta Bets and Herdins Lackbets, but works just as well directly on bare wood surfaces where you want to preserve the wood's natural feel and grain. The end result is an elegant, semi-matte finish with high resistance to spills of hot and colored liquids, everyday wear, bumps and scratches.
The advantages of Herdins Staining Lacquer Semi-Matt
- Optimal overcoating protection: Does not dissolve underlying stain, making it perfect on top of Herdins Äkta Bets and Herdins Lackbets.
- Durable polyurethane alkyd: Creates a hard but flexible surface that can withstand heavy loads on tables, benches, chairs and doors.
- Protection against liquids and stains: Resistant to coffee, wine, water and household chemicals.
- Preserves the wood's luster: The semi-matt gloss minimizes glare and reflections while highlighting the wood's natural structure.
How to apply Herdins Staining Lacquer - Step by step
- Prepare the surface: Make sure the surface is clean, dry and dust-free. If the surface has been previously stained, the stain must have dried completely according to instructions.
- Stir thoroughly: Stir the can from the bottom before and during the work so that the matting agent is evenly distributed. Do not shake the can vigorously, as this can create air bubbles in the varnish.
- Apply thinly: Spread the varnish evenly in the direction of the wood grain with a high-quality varnish brush.
- On stained surfaces: 1–2 thin coats are usually sufficient.
- On untreated wood: Apply 2–3 coats for full protection.
- Intermediate sanding: Sand lightly with fine sandpaper (grit size 240–320) between coats when the surface has dried thoroughly. Wipe off all sanding dust before applying the next coat.
