Stain Clear Aqua Blank 500ml Herdins
Description
Protect and highlight the natural grain of the wood with Herdins Stain Clear Aqua Blank. This water-based, glossy clear varnish is specially developed to provide optimal wear resistance and long-lasting protection on clean, previously varnished or stained wood surfaces indoors. The varnish is ideal for furniture, panels, joinery, moldings and doors. With its quick-drying and almost odorless acrylate formula, it is easy and pleasant to work with in a home environment without strong solvent odors. The glossy surface (gloss level approx. 65) gives a deep, elegant shine that is easy to wipe off and keep clean.
Features and benefits
- Durable surface protection: Provides a durable barrier against dirt, wear and everyday wiping.
- Fast drying time: Dust-dry and can be overpainted after just 2–4 hours at 20 °C.
- Water-borne and low-odor: Gentle on the indoor environment during application.
- High gloss (approx. 65): Highlights the wood's structure and underlying stain with a rich finish.
- Versatile application: Adheres well to both untreated wood, veneer and stained substrates.
Guide: Apply Herdins Betslack Aqua step by step
- Preparation: Make sure the substrate is clean, dry and dust-free. When staining: let the stain dry completely according to instructions before painting. Sand clean wooden surfaces lightly in the direction of the grain with fine sandpaper (grain size 180–240) and vacuum thoroughly.
- Application: Stir the varnish well from the bottom before use (do not shake vigorously to avoid air bubbles). Apply an even, thin layer with a soft synthetic bristle paint brush or a paint roller.
- Intermediate sanding: For maximum durability and finish, 2–3 coats are recommended. Sand lightly with fine sandpaper (grit 240–320) between coats after the varnish has dried (remove sanding dust carefully).
- Finishing: The surface can be used lightly after 24 hours, but avoid heavy loads or moisture during the first 10–12 days while the varnish cures.
Cleaning and maintenance
- Tool care: Scrape and scrape off excess varnish from brushes and rollers immediately after painting. Then clean thoroughly with lukewarm water and washing-up liquid.
- Storage: Store frost-free and out of reach of children in a tightly closed original container. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Environment & Waste Management
Empty and dry tin cans are sorted as metal packaging at the recycling station. Running paint residues, wash water from brushes and paint residues should not be poured down the drain, but handed in as water-based paint waste at your local environmental station.
