Roof And Panel Paint White 1L Herdins
Description
Herdins Roof & Panel is a water-based, eco-labeled and drip-free stain developed for ceilings and panels made of softwood indoors. The product is the perfect choice for giving old, yellowed panels a beautiful, bright and satin-matt surface, while highlighting the wood's structure.
The stain prevents and reduces both knot bleeding and future yellowing. A big advantage is that you don't have to use knot varnish before treatment. Its smooth consistency and drip-free properties make it extremely easy to work with – especially when painting ceilings – which makes it just as popular with professional painters as it is with DIYers.
Instructions for use & Application
Pre-treatment
- The panel must be completely dry and well cleaned before you start the treatment.
- Clean wooden surfaces: Sand in the direction of the wood grain with sandpaper (grain size 120–150).
- Previously varnished or old yellowed panels: Clean thoroughly with paint thinner or a grease-dissolving alkaline cleaner. Important: Always wash the surface with clean water, regardless of which paint thinner is used.
- If the existing varnish has started to peel, careful sanding is recommended.
- Always test paint on a less visible area to check the shade and adhesion before treating the entire surface.
Application
- Stir the glaze thoroughly and let it rest for a few minutes before painting.
- If you use several cans of the same color, mix them together in advance to avoid differences in gloss and shade.
- Apply the glaze with a soft varnish brush.
- Work systematically in the lengthwise direction of the wood, 2–3 boards at a time. Never finish in the middle of a board.
- Always treat 2 times with at least 12 hours of drying time between coats.
Finishing
- No finishing is normally required.
- On surfaces that are exposed to extra wear, a protective layer of Herdins Clearcoat Aqua is recommended.
Cleaning, Handling & Waste
- Cleaning tools: Wipe brushes and utensils thoroughly. Then clean immediately with soap and water.
- Handling & Storage: Avoid spills and contact with skin and eyes. Store frost-free.
- Waste management: Empty and cleaned packaging is sorted as plastic packaging. Any liquid product residues are left at the nearest environmental station/recycling center.
Important to remember
- Do not use knot varnish before treatment - the glaze has built-in protection against knot bleeding.
- Always mix the contents together if you use several cans of the same color for an even result.
