Smart frost protection with automatic thermostat

NIBE KVR 10-10 is equipped with a built-in and self-regulating 15 W heating cable. The heating cable is automatically activated when the outdoor temperature drops to +2 °C or lower, ensuring reliable frost protection when it is needed most. When the outdoor temperature rises above +2 °C, the heating cable is automatically switched off to minimise energy consumption and save electricity.

The installation of the NIBE KVR 10-10 is done directly in connection with the outdoor unit's condensation water drain. The flexible plastic material with a dimension of 90 mm makes the installation smooth and adapted to current standards. The heating cable is easily connected to the heat pump's electrical terminal block or the intended control board, which enables automatic control directly via the heat pump's own control system.

Care and maintenance for long durability

To ensure unhindered flow and maximum function, regular inspection of the condensation water pipe is recommended:

• Cleaning: Regularly check that the pipe opening is free of leaves, dirt and other deposits that can obstruct the water flow.
• Before the winter season: Check the cable connections and ensure that the thermostat and heating cable are activated correctly when the cold weather arrives.
• Drainage: Ensure that the condensation water is drained to a suitable drain, stone box or drainage to avoid ice formation around the heat pump foundation.
