Description

Herdins Hard Wax Oil Pigmented 225 Black Brown is a high-performance surface treatment that colors, cares for and protects indoor wooden surfaces in one step. The unique composition is based on natural vegetable oils and waxes that penetrate deep into the pores of the wood. The treatment saturates the fibers from within while highlighting the wood's natural grain and structure with a deep, elegant black-brown shade. The result is a vibrant, ultra-matte surface with outstanding resistance to moisture, water splashes, spills and everyday dirt.

The oil is specially formulated for demanding environments and surfaces that are exposed to heavy mechanical wear – such as solid wood floors, parquet, kitchen worktops, dining tables and stairs, but is equally suitable for wall panels and fine joinery. By combining the oil's deep protection with the wax's durable surface barrier, a long-lasting protection is created that neither cracks nor flakes, making the wood both durable and very easy to clean, maintain and spot repair over time.

Instructions for use & Application

Pre-treatment

• The surface must be completely clean, dry and wood-free (free from varnish, grease and previous surface treatments).
• Sand in the direction of the wood grain with coarse sandpaper and finish with grain 120. Vacuum and wipe off all sanding dust thoroughly.

Application

• Make sure the oil is at room temperature and stir the can well from the bottom. Mix cans with different batch numbers before starting to ensure an even shade.
• Spread the oil thinly and evenly with a brush, stain applicator or scouring pad.
• Important: Wipe off any excess immediately with a lint-free cloth – no wet oil must remain on the surface.
• Let dry for 10 hours, then apply a second thin layer in the same way.
• Let dry for at least 12 hours. For a silkier finish, the surface can be polished with a white scouring pad or polishing cloth.

Care & Maintenance

• Clean as needed with lukewarm water and Herdins Linseed Oil Soap.
• When the surface feels dull or dry after time: sand lightly with fine sandpaper and apply a new thin layer of hard wax oil.
• Safety instructions: Contains oxidizing oils. Always soak used rags, rag scraps and sponges in water immediately after use, or burn them, due to the risk of spontaneous combustion. Keep the can tightly closed and leave any paint residue at the environmental station.
