Kitchen Countertop Oil 500ml Herdins
Description
Herdins Kitchen Countertop Oil (500 ml) is a specially developed oil for wooden surfaces in the kitchen that are exposed to heavy wear. Formulated with carefully selected vegetable oils, it gives your countertop a beautiful, silky-matt finish while preventing cracking and drying out. Approved according to EN 71-3 (toy safety).
The benefits of Herdins Kitchen Countertop Oil
- Effective protection against moisture and stains: Creates a strong water- and dirt-repellent barrier that preserves the wood's natural luster.
- Prevents drying out: Penetrates deep into the wood fibers and prevents cracking.
- Easy to maintain and repair: Worn areas can be easily spot-treated and touched up without the entire board needing to be sanded down.
- Safety approved: Tested and approved according to European standard EN 71-3.
Step by step – How to apply Herdins Kitchen Countertop Oil
Pre-treatment
- Make sure the wooden surface is completely dry and free of grease, dust and dirt.
- Sand clean or previously oiled wood surfaces with sandpaper (grit size 120) to open the wood's pores and remove old oil. This gives an even and durable end result.
Application
- Apply a thin and even layer with a clean cloth or scouring pad.
- Work in the oil and distribute from non-absorbent to more absorbent areas. Add additional oil if necessary so that the entire wooden surface is saturated.
- Important: Wipe off any excess oil thoroughly after 15–20 minutes to prevent sticky or shiny spots.
- Repeat the treatment if necessary.
Finishing & Maintenance
- Finishing: Let the oil cure for about 24 hours. Do not expose the surface to moisture during this time. Then polish with white scouring pad (e.g. the white side of a kitchen sponge) for an extra durable and silky surface.
- Ongoing maintenance: Oil the worktop 2–3 times a year for best durability.
Safety and handling information
- Risk of spontaneous combustion: The product contains drying oils. Rags, rags and sponges that have been used should be soaked in water or burned immediately after use.
- Ventilation: Ensure good air exchange during work and drying as solvent vapors are emitted.
- Source separation: Completely emptied and dry packaging is sorted as sheet metal/metal at a recycling center.
