Floor Soap White 3L Herdins
Description
Herdins Floor Soap White is a natural and generous floor soap made from renewable soy oil and pigmented with white titanium dioxide. The soap is especially adapted for sloped and oil-treated wooden floors, but is also excellent as a stand-alone surface treatment on softwood (pine and spruce).
Thanks to its high fat content, the soap saturates the pores of the wood and forms a protective barrier against dirt, wear and moisture. Regular use refines the floor over time and gives the coveted, timeless feeling of a genuine old-fashioned scrubbed floor with a soft, light patina. No separate after-treatment is required – the soap works both as a basic treatment and continuous maintenance.
Dosage & Consumption
- Regular cleaning & cleansing: 2–3 dl soap, 10 liters of lukewarm water
- Basic treatment after oiling: 5–8 dl soap, 8–10 liters of cold water
- Surface treatment (classic scrub floor): 5–8 dl soap, 8–10 liters of cold water
Instructions & Step-by-step
Regular cleaning and maintenance
- Vacuum or sweep the floor free of grit and dust.
- Mix 2–3 dl Herdins Floor Soap White with 10 liters of lukewarm water.
- Dry the floor with a well-wrung mop or scouring cloth in the lengthwise direction of the wood.
Basic treatment after oiling
Do this approximately 2 weeks after the floor has been oiled.
- Vacuum the surface thoroughly.
- Mix 5–8 dl floor soap with 10 liters of cold water.
- Smear the soapy water evenly with a wrung-out cloth or mop in the lengthwise direction of the boards.
- Wipe with a clean, wrung-out mop so that no excess remains. Repeat the treatment for extra protection.
Create a classic white-finished scrubbed floor
- Sand: Sand a new or clean wooden floor with sandpaper (grit size 120).
- Vacuum: Remove all sanding dust very carefully.
- Dampen the wood: Dampen the surface lightly with clean, cold water before you start soaping to prevent stains.
- Mix soap mixture: Mix 5–8 dl Herdins White Floor Soap in 8–10 liters of cold water.
- Scrub: Scrub a few boards at a time along the direction of the fibers with a scrub brush.
- Wipe up immediately: Wipe up dirty water and excess soap with a scrubbing cloth before moving on to the next section. Never let puddles dry in, as this can cause stains.
- Repeat: For full protection and an even white surface - repeat the treatment at least 5 times (let dry for about 1 hour between each application).
