Lacquer Stain Aqua 604 Iron Vitriol 275ml Herdins
Description
Herdins Lacquer Stain Aqua in the shade Iron Vitriol is a ready-mixed, water-borne stain with binders and micropigments. It gives the wood a beautiful, durable surface and a naturally weathered tone in one go. Thanks to a longer open time than traditional stains, the risk of overlaps is minimized, making it also excellent for the home handyman. The formula is particularly resistant to sunlight, making it optimal for surfaces exposed to strong daylight.
Features and benefits
- Easy to work with: Longer drying time when applying gives an even result without joints.
- UV-resistant: Less sensitive to sun fading than conventional stain.
- Versatile: Adheres to both clean wood and previously treated surface layers.
- Water-based: Gentle formula and easy cleaning of tools.
Instructions for use
Pre-treatment
- Always test stain on a scrap piece of the same wood species to check the shade.
- Sand the surface in the direction of the wood grain with 120 grit sandpaper.
- Previously treated surfaces are sanded matt and washed with baking soda if necessary (rinse thoroughly).
Application
- Stir the can thoroughly before starting. If several cans are used, mix them together in a common container to avoid shade differences.
- Apply the stain generously in the direction of the grain.
- Quickly work out the excess with a wrung-out sponge or a wiped brush.
- If there is a tendency to overlap: add more stain and smooth with a white fibre cloth. Finish by lightly wiping with a wrung-out sponge.
Finishing & Care
- Finally brush with a panel brush or white fibre cloth for an extra soft surface.
- For surfaces with high wear, topcoat with Herdins Klarlack Aqua or Herdins Golvlack. (Note: On oak, the color darkens significantly when overcoating; always do a hidden test).
- Store the can in a frost-free place in the closed original packaging.
- Empty and cleaned cans are sorted as metal/tin. Paint residues are left at the environmental station as water-based waste.
