Instructions for use

Preparation

• Always perform a test stain on a hidden area or a scrap piece of the same wood species to verify the shade.
• Sand the surface in the direction of the grain using 120-grit sandpaper. Remove all sanding dust.
• Clean previously treated surfaces thoroughly; sand down and wash with sugar soap (TSP substitute) if necessary (rinse well with clean water and allow to dry completely).

Application

• Mix the contents if using multiple cans of the same color to ensure a uniform result. Stir well before and during use.
• Apply a generous amount of stain in the direction of the wood grain.
• Even out quickly using a damp natural sponge or a brush with excess stain removed.
• If overlap marks appear: apply a little extra stain and blend the transition using a white synthetic abrasive pad.

Finishing

• Brush over with a panel brush or white synthetic abrasive pad for an extra soft, pleasant finish.
• For extra high durability (e.g., tabletops and stair treads), apply a topcoat of Herdins Clear Varnish Aqua or Herdins Floor Varnish. Note: Applying a topcoat over oak will significantly darken the color—always perform a test first.

Care, Storage & Environment

• Tool cleaning: Wipe off excess stain thoroughly; Then wash brushes and sponges with warm water and dish soap.
• Storage: Store in a frost-free location in the tightly sealed original container, out of the reach of children.
• Waste disposal: Dispose of liquid paint residue at a recycling center as water-based paint waste. Thoroughly emptied and dry cans should be sorted as metal packaging.
