Lacquer Stain Aqua 602 Mahogany 275ml Herdins
Description
Herdins Lacquer Stain Aqua Mahogany is a modern, waterborne and user-friendly stain solution adapted for clean or previously treated wood surfaces indoors. By combining color pigments and lacquer binders, you get a beautiful color and a protective layer in one step - perfect for furniture, panels, joinery and moldings where you want to highlight the natural grain of the wood with a warm mahogany tone.
The formula is based on advanced micropigments and has a longer open time than traditional stains. It gives an even, professional result without stress, even if you are not used to staining. Since Lackbets Aqua is extra resistant to sunlight, it is ideal for furniture and surfaces in bright, sunlit rooms.
Advantages of Herdins Lacquer Stain Aqua
- Combined effect: Colours and protects the wood in a single step.
- Easy to apply: Longer open time reduces the risk of joints and mottling.
- Sun-resistant: Micropigments provide better UV protection and reduced fading compared to regular stain.
- Water-borne: Low odor and gentler indoor environment.
- Easy cleaning: Tools are easily washed with just water and dishwashing detergent.
- Flexible: Adheres to both clean wood and previously treated surfaces.
Instructions & Step-by-Step Guide
Pre-treatment
- Always do a test stain on a scrap piece of the same wood type to check the shade.
- Sand the surface in the direction of the wood grain with 120 grit sandpaper and wipe away the sanding dust.
- Previously treated surfaces must be sanded matt and, if necessary, degreased with baking soda (rinse thoroughly and let dry).
Finishing
- A light brushing with a panel brush or non-woven fabric gives an extra smooth surface.
- If greater wear resistance is required (e.g. table tops and shelves), topcoat with Herdins Klarlack Aqua or Herdins Golvlack.
- (NOTE: When overcoating oak, the colour darkens considerably - always test first!)
Application
- Stir thoroughly from the bottom before use. (Tip: Mix several cans in one container if the project requires more than one can).
- Apply the stain liberally in the direction of the grain and quickly smooth out with a wrung-out sponge or a wiped-off brush.
- If there is a tendency to overlap: wet the area with more stain and work it out with a white non-woven fabric, finish with a sponge.
