Lacquer Stain Aqua 607 Brown 275ml Herdins
Description
Herdins Lacquer Stain Aqua Brown is a user-friendly, water-borne and environmentally friendly ready-to-use stain solution based on micropigments and binders. The product is developed to provide safe application, even colouring and beautiful basic protection - staining and varnishing in one and the same step. Thanks to a longer open time than traditional stains, it is particularly easy to work with, even for inexperienced users. In addition, Lacquer Stain Aqua resists sunlight better than other stains, making it optimal for surfaces that are exposed to strong light. The color Brown is part of a series of 10 different shades.
Advantages of Herdins Lackbets Aqua
- Colors and protects in one step: Stain and varnish in the same coat - saves time and effort.
- Easy to work with with longer open time: Easy to apply evenly without joints, even for the inexperienced.
- High UV resistance: Less faded by sunlight than traditional stains.
- Water-borne and gentle: Minimal odor and easy cleaning with water and detergent.
- Versatile: Adheres to both clean wood and previously treated wood.
- Buildable durability: Can be easily overpainted for extra durable surfaces.
Instructions & Workflow
Pretreatment
- Always perform a test stain on the same type of wood to verify the color before starting.
- Sand the wood in the direction of the grain with sandpaper grit 120 or equivalent.
- Previously treated surfaces require careful sanding and possible cleaning with soda ash (rinse off the soda ash very carefully afterwards).
Application
- Stir the stain thoroughly before use.
- Apply the stain liberally in the direction of the wood grain.
- Quickly smooth the surface with a wrung-out sponge or a clean, wiped-out brush.
- If there is a tendency to overlap: wet the area with more stain and work in the area with a white non-woven cloth until the shade evens out.
- Finish by wiping off and smoothing with a wrung-out sponge.
Finishing
- Finally brushing with a panel brush or white non-woven cloth gives an extra pleasant surface feel.
- For extra durability, the surface can be overcoated with Herdins Klarlack Aqua or Herdins Golvlack.
- NOTE regarding oak: When overcoating Lackbets Aqua on oak, the color darkens considerably. Always test on a hidden surface first.
Maintenance, Storage & Environment
- Cleaning tools: Wipe off as much product as possible from brushes and tools. Then clean in water and regular dishwashing detergent.
- Handling & storage: Store frost-free in tightly closed original packaging. Avoid spills and contact with skin and eyes.
- Waste management: Leave leftover product at a recycling center/environmental station as water-based paint waste. Well-emptied and cleaned packaging is sorted as metal.
Important to consider
- Lackbets Aqua has a slightly lower transparency than Herdins Äkta Bets and traditional Lacquer Stain.
- When applied to previously varnished wood, it does not provide the same adhesion as traditional, solvent-borne lacquer stain.
- If the project requires several cans of the same color, the contents should be mixed together in a larger container before application begins for a completely uniform color result.
