Description

NIBE PCS 44 is a specially developed shunt group accessory designed for the NIBE F1145 and NIBE F1245 ground source heat pumps. This accessory complements the heat pump's regular heating function by also enabling passive cooling, which provides comfortable indoor temperature control during the warmer months of the year.

Energy-efficient passive cooling via brine loop

Passive cooling, also known as free cooling, is based on the principle of utilizing the naturally cool temperature deep in the bedrock or ground. Through the collector circuit on the brine side, the cool liquid is led through the NIBE PCS 44 and on to the property's distribution system, such as fan coils. Since the heat pump's compressor does not need to work during this process, only a fraction of the electricity that a traditional cooling system consumes is required.

Smooth integration and control

The shunt group is directly integrated with the heat pump's intelligent control system, which means that the transition between heating and comfort cooling occurs automatically and reliably. The heat pump continuously monitors the indoor and outdoor temperatures to shunt exactly the right amount of cooling water into the system.
