NIBE ELK 26 is a reliable and efficient electric cassette that is primarily intended for installation together with a heat pump for heating villas or smaller apartment buildings. The electric cassette functions as an external addition that is automatically switched on when the heat demand exceeds the heat pump's capacity, ensuring an even indoor temperature even during the coldest winter days. The design consists of a well-insulated water tank with integrated stainless steel electric coils, which minimizes heat loss and provides a long service life with stable operation.

Flexible power regulation and smart control

ELK 26 is equipped with contactors and overheating protection that make it possible to regulate the power externally via the heat pump or a higher-level control system. The power can be divided into three basic groups of 4, 7 and 15 kW or binary controlled in seven different steps from 4 kW up to 26 kW. This step-by-step connection makes the heating very energy-efficient, since the additional power is adjusted exactly to the current power requirement in the property.

Robust construction and high operational reliability

The electric cassette is developed for vertical wall mounting and requires minimal space in the boiler room or installation space. The stainless steel electric boiler tube and the acid-resistant heating elements are designed to withstand an operating pressure of up to 7 bar. The unit has a built-in overheating protection that can be easily reset manually if necessary, which provides a safe and reliable heating system all year round.

Easy integration with ground source heat and air/water heat pumps

NIBE ELK 26 is specially adapted for smooth docking with NIBE ground source heat pumps and air/water heat pumps. In installations where the heat pump lacks an internal immersion heater, or where the system requires extra additional capacity, the ELK 26 functions as an optimal peak heat source and backup unit. Please note that the manufacturer’s full warranty is not applicable for units bought in Sweden and installed outside Sweden.

Safe installation and long-term security

To ensure proper function and safety, the electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified installer via an all-pole circuit breaker. The heating medium circuit is connected with an approved safety valve and expansion vessel, and the system's flow is secured via a circulation pump for even heat distribution.
