Description

NIBE SMO S40 is an advanced and intelligent control module developed to provide optimal control over climate systems in both modern homes and larger properties. The module docks smoothly with NIBE air/water heat pumps or ground source heat pumps and enables customized system solutions together with external hot water heater, additional heat sources and accessories for cooling, ventilation and solar power. With the capacity to control up to eight heat pumps and eight mixing groups in the same system, the unit offers maximum flexibility, high operational reliability and energy-efficient operation.

Smart Price Adaption and energy savings

Through the integrated Smart Price Adaption function, the control module adapts the heat pump's operation to the current electricity prices on the Nordic electricity exchange Nord Pool. The heat pump automatically works more intensively during the hours of the day when the electricity price is lowest, which can reduce the variable heating cost by between five and ten percent without compromising indoor comfort.

Connection via WiFi and myUplink

With built-in WiFi and the free myUplink app, you get full overview and control of the heating system directly on your mobile phone or tablet. The system provides continuous software updates, alarm notifications via push notifications and email in the event of any operational deviations, and support for voice control via Google Home. The user interface is complemented by a Scandinavian-designed color touchscreen with a push-to-open design.

Weather forecast control and indoor climate

Via myUplink, NIBE SMO S40 continuously retrieves weather data and proactively adjusts heat production for upcoming temperature changes. This proactive control prevents overheating during rapid weather changes, saves valuable energy and ensures a consistent and comfortable indoor temperature all year round.

Active cooling and wireless smart accessories

During the summer months, the system can be expanded with active cooling accessories to distribute coolness via ceiling or wall fan coils. The module also supports wireless smart home sensors that measure temperature, humidity and carbon dioxide levels in different rooms, allowing the climate to be automatically optimized according to the home's actual needs.
