Description

NIBE EME 20 is an advanced communication module developed to create a seamless integration between the solar system's inverter and compatible heat pumps, indoor modules or control modules. By establishing a direct communication link, the module enables automatic and intelligent control of the property's energy flows, which maximizes the self-use of self-produced solar energy and reduces the need for purchased grid electricity.

  • Optimized self-consumption of solar electricity: When the solar panels produce a surplus of electricity, NIBE EME 20 ensures that the energy is directed directly to the heat pump to produce heat or domestic hot water, which reduces energy costs.
  • Automatic demand control in four power modes: The module automatically adapts operation and prioritization based on how much solar power is generated, which provides maximum efficiency and minimized waste.
  • Full overview via digital platforms: Together with compatible control systems and apps such as myUplink, it is possible to monitor and visualize solar electricity production and the system's energy status directly in real time.
  • Simple and discreet installation: The module's compact format and smooth cable connections make installation clean and time-efficient next to the main system.

Smart operating modes and prioritization

NIBE EME 20 works with intelligent thresholds to control the property's energy production and energy consumption:

  1. Low production (below 250 W): The system maintains standard operation without changing settings.
  2. Incipient production (above 250 W): The module registers active solar energy production and prepares the system for optimization.
  3. Moderate production (above 1 kW): The heat pump can activate pre-selected functions or close the AUX output for dedicated solar control if needed.
  4. Full coverage: When the solar production covers the facility's energy needs, the surplus is primarily directed to priorities such as domestic hot water, heating boost or household electricity via an external energy meter.
