Description

The NIBE S1257 is an intelligent, inverter-controlled ground-source heat pump with an integrated water heater, providing reliable, energy-efficient heating and domestic hot water for properties of various sizes. Its advanced frequency control allows the compressor to continuously adjust its output based on real-time heating demand, ensuring a consistent indoor temperature while minimizing unnecessary energy consumption. With an exceptionally high Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP)—up to 5.8—it guarantees very low annual operating costs, all while the system runs quietly and reliably, regardless of the weather. The unit is designed for a long service life and maximum convenience in the modern household.

Intelligent Heating Control with NIBE Sense

Through the integrated NIBE Sense platform, the NIBE S1257 connects seamlessly to the smart home. The system learns the unique characteristics of the house and automatically optimizes energy consumption based on current heating demand, weather forecasts, and dynamic electricity prices. This allows for further reductions in operating costs by shifting production to the most cost-effective hours of the day—all without compromising indoor comfort or the availability of hot water. The platform is kept constantly up-to-date via automatic software updates over the network, ensuring the system continues to evolve and meet future standards throughout its entire service life.

Integrated Hot Water Tank with a Choice of Corrosion Protection

The NIBE S1257 features a built-in hot water tank, providing a highly space-efficient, all-in-one solution for utility rooms or boiler rooms. To accommodate varying water quality and local conditions—such as lime or chloride content—the hot water tank is available with three different types of corrosion protection: stainless steel, copper, or enamel. Stainless steel is ideal for soft to medium-hard water of good quality; copper is a proven choice for standard water conditions; and the enameled version, equipped with a sacrificial anode, offers robust protection in areas with more aggressive or lime-rich water. This flexibility ensures maximum durability for the hot water tank, regardless of where in the country the unit is installed.

Multiple output capacities for tailored heating

To meet the energy requirements of everything from medium-sized single-family homes to larger villas and multi-family properties, the NIBE S1257 is available in three output capacities: 9 kW, 13 kW, and 18 kW. Inverter technology provides a wide modulation range within each capacity class, allowing the heat pump to precisely adjust its output—whether during mild autumn days or in the depths of a harsh winter. This precise sizing prevents unnecessary start/stop cycles, which reduces mechanical wear on the compressor and ensures smooth, quiet operation.

Compact design and installation advantages

The unit’s well-thought-out design integrates both the heat pump and the water heater into a footprint of just 600 by 620 millimeters, with a height of 1800 millimeters. Its modular construction makes it easier to move the unit indoors and position it, even in confined spaces. All pipe connections are easily accessible for straightforward plumbing, and the internal components are engineered for quiet operation with minimal structural noise. The NIBE S1257 can be connected to a geothermal borehole, a horizontal ground collector, or a lake-based heat collection loop, offering complete flexibility during the planning and installation phases.
